10 seconds a stop · 3 lives · new route at midnight

How to play

Get from the first word to the last word in exactly five stops.

  1. 1Each stop must link to the one before it: a meaning, a phrase, a fact, even a name. BEE → HONEY, FIRE → TRUCK, SPIDER → EIGHT, BEAR → POOH.
  2. 2Your fifth stop must link to the last word too.
  3. 3You get 10 seconds a stop. The three closed words are roadblocks. Typing one, or running out of time, costs a life. You have three.

Scoring

Every link scores up to 100: the closer the link, the more points. Your route score is the average of all six links. Derail, and the links you never reached count as zero.

Direct68–100 · the link most people would make
Scenic47–67 · clever, or a known phrase or fact
Wild10–46 · a stretch, but it holds

A word that doesn't link costs no life, only time. Speed doesn't change your score, but your time to spare is shared too. A new train leaves every midnight, and once you've played it, practice routes are unlimited.

Settings

20 seconds a stop instead of 10. Your result is marked ⏳ when shared.

Flap clacks, the arrival chime, buzzers.
